I do this for entertainment and to learn a little on various topics. If you think this generation doesn't have a person to person communication issue as much of their dialogue has been turned to text, maybe you should study the topic a little.
I can tell you as a teacher that face to face communication with today's young people is a joke. Especially with guys talking to girls. These guys couldn't get laid in a whore house with a bank bag full of Jackson's.

Smartphones-touche SDTV-You could play Sega on it without it looking weird as **** Dial up- Porn was more of an adventure Plagarism- I'd bet it was the same back in the day, but I never did it, so I don't give a single ****. You could buy a 240sx, MR2, 300zx, etc new for as much as I can get a Kia Rio now. A used AE86, TA22 Celica, or Datsun 510 would have been cheap as shit back then, you could probably get one running and relatively rust free for under 1500. How much was your student loan debt? Of course, I can walk around places like Trenton or Ringgold, GA without people attempting to lynch me, but you're not black and I doubt many of you are so that isn't relevant.
It's not valued. We need good little sheep. Just do as authority tells you, they're always right. If you have a problem, authority will tell you who to blame.
If this has been your experience, I truly hate that. I would have liked to had you in my class. I welcome discussion in my history class and my engineering class is all about coming up with unique solutions to the opportunities/problems that are presented to the students.
Oh, no. I've had the benefit of some really good teachers who have challenged me to be a good thinker. I just know a bunch of kids who haven't had that luxury and it shows. I really wish there had been an engineering class at my school. Only thing we had by the time I left was a drafting club that was stillborn.
