The problem was not having someone ready to go when it was obvious Helsley was compromised (which they already knew going in)
I mean at least Scherzer didn’t miss the start with a “dead arm” again. Maybe the Mets will wish he had.
Tony Gwynn belongs on the Mt. Rushmore of great ball players who were also exceptional human beings. I would put Gehrig and Clemente with him but struggle to find someone else equally talented and gracious.
But also Tony Gwynn played 20 seasons and Aaron Judge hit 46% of Gwynn’s career homers in one season this year.
I recently learned Elton John is a Braves fan. I was insufferable enough after we won the WS but this is something else. I don’t won’t to hear any $hit from anyone unless they can prove that Socrates was a Cardinals fan or some $hit.
Teams I want to win the WS this year: Tier one: 1. Good guys two: 2. Mariners 3. rays 4. Cleveland Baseball Team 5. jays 6. padres 7. yankees three: 8. dodgers 9. astros 10. cardinals 11. phillies death is preferable: 12. mets
Scherzer is old. Was shot by the NLCS last year. Shot already this year. Boo’d off the mound in Queens. Sad.
If I ask any random person around the world who Bill Murray or Eddie Vedder is they will know of them less than they know of Elton [uck fay]ing John. He isn’t Jesus or Michael Jackson but he’s not far off.
