Dancing around hitters with 100 in the bag is monumentally stupid. Be efficient. [dadgum] I hate the way pro baseball treats starting pitching now.
It probably is, but I still enjoy the late inning strategy and double-switching in the NL as a result of not wanting pitchers to hit.
The only thing that made me slightly in favor of it was that Matheny didn’t know double-switching your 3-hole hitter out in a close game wasn’t mandatory, and he got fired, so, I’m back in the 10,000% opposed camp
Also the fact that a pitcher cannot throw high and tight and then go sit down, never having to face the other pitcher. I think it has just altered the game, and even though the NL is literally the only level of baseball that still has no DH (that I am aware of), I wish it were different at all levels. You field, you bat. You bat, you field. Just my feelings on it.
