Three times in my memory: Spurrier to Florida, Myer to Florida and saban to Alabama.

I am sure there are a few others, but they are a lot harder to pull off than many think. Imho.

I remember going "Who the hell would hire Pete 'Chewing Gum' Carol?" He was awful at the Patriots. So I am not sure there are many 'home run' hires if you consider initial.

Bear Bryant to Alabama was probably a home run (obviously ended up being a grand slam walk off world series winning hire). Johnny Majors to UT in 1977 I would consider a home run hire, but that ended up being more of a double or even triple.
