Fortunately, I'm invincible. I mean, I assume I am. I've never had a serious medical issue to this point. No reason to think I ever will.

 

I just received a letter from the IRS, stating that I have to pay them more taxes for 2014, because I couldn't afford insurance. Good thing Obamacare is not a tax.

 

It wasn't a tax until it was.

 

Hooray, a tax on living.

 

Call them and ask them how they plan on enforcing this payment some they have no legal authority to do so.

 

Just tell em you're a sovereign citizen.

 

I'm considering moving to Mexico and becoming a citizen there. Then I would need to sneak back into the USA as an illegal alien. And all my bills would be paid and all my meals would be free. Maybe a bunch of us could all get together and do this as a group thing. Looks like it is the future in America.

 

I think the best way to handle the IRS is to not get their attention.

 

They have zero legal authority to collect and fines/taxes due from the individual mandate. I'm not necessarily saying you should do this, I'm just saying that legally, there is nothing they can do.

What gets me are all these leftists all up in arms about how they hate the insurance companies but then they're all about the individual mandate! Again....wtf??

 

Evidently it's not a fine, it's a tax. The IRS is the one collecting it.

 

Yeah, The gov't calls it a "fine", but the IRS being the collection agency for that "fine" sure makes it more like a tax.
