timely. I had a trooper cut across 2 lanes with no signal today, everyone cowering and moving out of his way as he overtook them in a manner that would be described as reckless had he witnessed a plebe do it. all to just pull off at a speed trap a few miles later.

 

My first ticket, about 4 months after the 16th birthday, was rolling through a stop sign. The cop cut across 4 lanes and the turning lane white smoking tires to get me.

The officer commented on me "almost causing a wreck". I said no ma'am, I didn't cut across 4 lanes of traffic.

 

Oh, I bet that made her stop and think and then decide you were correct and not give you a ticket. Am I right?

Boy she was pissed. It was a husband/duo, both were state troopers, that loved to pull people over for petty stuff. Tint too dark, loud mufflers all kinds of good stuff that goes over well in a one red light town.

Feels like ambulance drivers (at the least) should be held to a higher standard, if anything. Probably police and fire as well, but maybe I'm missing something.

I would say the music thing is unenforceable, you could just be hanging up a call (you can probably also voice control anyways but I've never gotten on board with talking to inanimate objects). It also says nothing about GPS, which seems like an oversight to me. And it's got something in there about not applying when lawfully stopped, which is needlessly ambiguous, since I doubt they want the whole thing to be invalidated at stoplights.

I bought a CD slot mount and already had a bluetooth receiver since my car is a little older than standard smartphone integration. I think just rolling with that and not being an idiot should suffice.

EDIT: Looks like GPS is in the actual bill, and if it's mounted you can use one tap/swipe while driving as long as it's not to record/stream video, so you can skip songs
