I believe someone should be free to do drugs if they want, but if you’re going to enforce drug laws you can’t look the other way when doctors and drug companies are pushing them too.

 

Imagine waiting until today to do your taxes. Got an email from turbo tax saying "last chance," and I know there are some who are saying "oh shit"

I file an extension nearly every year

 

I’m poor. Takes like 30 minutes.

 

I imagine it is different for business owners than it is for individuals, though.

 

Can't blame you, yours are probably a bit complicated.

What's really fun is the number of CPAs who get to today and go "oh shit, I've got to extend my own return."

I have one client. Her self-awareness makes Indy look like a savant. She called 15 minutes ago to discuss a sales tax issue and seemed annoyed when I asked if we could talk in the morning.

My accountant filed for an extension today. We owed (like more than the cost of a meal out) for the first time in a while. Our children have become freeloading adults and FU Donald J Trump for mucking with the withholding tables. I know I had years and ample warning to make the needed changes, but is one seriously expected to update deductions?

 

The withholding tables stuff was just silliness.

 

Agreed. I said so at the time and, like an idiot, did nothing about it. I wound up having to pay a penalty for underpayment which I haven't done since the 1998 tax season or so..

 

I don't know why but I found this funny.

 

It is extremely depressing to think how much a unifying event it would be to shoot down transphobic extraterrestrials for failing to provide their pronouns.

 

February is usually our slowest month so I typically have mine done by sometime in March. This year it was a miracle I pulled that off.
