The amazing part to me, well, as amazed as I can be at this point, was not him wanting Greenland. It's not the most terrible idea to want access to the island. But, it is a silly pipe dream which would cost too much money and has zero chance of ever happening, in the first place. Even if Denmark were willing to sell, Greenland has to sign off on it. The crazy part is him making this some kind of main negotiating point and "punishing" Denmark by them not taking a silly notion seriously.

Denmark hurt his feelings and that is what is really important, not the country or anything else of benefit to the U.S. which could have been discussed in a meeting.

 

Denmark won't sell Greenland? Just buy Denmark.
