Was wondering the same. OU has an air raid OC, though right?

Yup. Still very surprised by the lack of pressure.

Slow on reads. Had a bad time getting downhill, was pretty much just catching on blocks. Looked like he was on skates when a block came his way. False stepped about every play.

Maybe last year's defense over-achieved and this is just things evening out. Offense is better, defense takes a step back, and Stoops is a better coach than Butch. We may need 45 to win. It will all look better on Friday after a week of excuses and motivational cliches, but I see a loss with both teams in the high 30's, low 40's.

The secondary play is inexcusable though and I am pretty surprised our pass rush wasn't present.

I can't argue that he didn't, or that he isn't. It still looked disturbingly easy.

Oklahoma plays that short passing game shit. Kinda like the Patriots style of quick passes.

If you'll recall there were some pretty disturbing moments from the defense at several points last year.

Maybe that was the reason we came out playing man up close like that?

Oklahoma struggled against Akron, so let's slow our roll on this doomsday scenario, we may very well lose but we aren't facing the 1995 Nebraska.

If they were our team the sky would be falling.

They ran for 100 yards on 33 attempts. That's pretty awful.

Agreed. There's a knee-jerk reaction to today's game, while it looked really bad at times there were some really good things that happened too. OL looked improved (competition be damned, they looked better) and we should have a very good run game. We've got playmakers at WR and TE. Secondary looked bad, maybe Martinez not being there had an effect? TKjr missed most of the game. Got to think they'll do something with the scheme to cover some of what we saw there. Pass rush was concerning too but you're not going to keep guys like Barnett and Maggitt down long. Special teams looked good, I hate having Cam back there but he's electric, Daniel has a leg at punter. Medley is a concern.

How the **** does the defense:
    * Give up that first down on 4th down deep in their territory
    * Get a roughing the passer and first down after they throw an incompletion on 3rd and 27
    * Let that little receiver run by you all first half

I have not watched the second half yet; I assume they didn't get smarter.

How many yards did Sutton have tonight on punt returns? It had to be a lot.
