Ssmiff Went to the White House...Again

Yes it was. He came out and Pruitt looked to get on him for coming out. It was a screen play coming and Pruitt wanted Ty to be in there instead of #9. Ty said something and Pruitt appeared to say something to a trainer.
    I seent it.

There are actually two officials on the sideline there in that situation. One of which is looking at the feet for where they step out to mark. The other is trained to focus on upper body, ball control, etc. The official in the back of the play that you can see in the video has the feet. The one on ball side is looking upper body. No excuse for that to be missed. None. That’s as clear cut targeting as you will get. Leading with crown of helmet will hey you every time. Leading with it to the ball carriers head area is even worse.

A damn joke the SEC officials have become.

What can realistically be done about the officiating?

Nothing. With the targeting issue, refs have to make a split second call when they may have not gotten the right look in real time. This leads to targeting calls on most plays that look bad. It could be the cleanest hit of all time but if it looks brutal it’s getting flagged.

Then you have to review, and the standard applied for changing the call made on the field is silly because calls are sometimes overturned where there is not incontrovertible evidence on fumbles and goal line TD or no TD situations.

The refs do screw a lot up but in some instances they’re just put in impossible situations.

I can understand the real time calls being iffy here and there, but the replay review calls might actually be even worse. No excuse for blowing as many calls as they do with multiple HD angles and slow motion.
