Rice really wasn't that effective there at the end. Once Gruden left and Callahan drove them into the ground he was just as ineffective as every other receiver to shuffle through there.

well wasn't he like 40 by then?

Yeah, but just showing how he was still really good like 2 years prior, then when the whole team went to hell, so did he. Raiders never recovered, and Randy didn't change that. There was another pretty solid receiver there with Moss, and he was awful, too.

his last year with the Vikings wasn't great either. I'm not suggesting moss wasn't great. he was. only that he played below his potential at times. he retired at 35 too. it's not as though he should have been over the hill those later years.

Anything Raider's related in the NFL for the past decade is better off forgotten.

Speed was his best asset. He started slowing down and guys could run with him.

The difference between 38 and 40 for an athlete is huge. HUGE.

Not to mention, like any WR, if you don't have a QB that can get you the ball, you are going to suck.

Hell, he even offered to pay back part of his contract out of shame.

if I had to pick 1 WR to get me a must have catch, I'd take Irvin.

Possibly the greatest catch of all time in a Super Bowl before David Tyree

Great catch, but I wouldn't trust Holmes.
