But this is surely still the best song to come out of Seattle.
Not really. Boxing is a competitive sport, music is something you produce by yourself or within a group without regard to competition and are judged upon this. Boxing is measured against an opponent. Doesn't work.
I love when Pearl Jam covers this, to me, it's much better than the Mother Love Bone version, Eddie put his on twist on it and it's amazing.
To be fair to the city of Seattle, this song is imho one of the best of all time. Maybe not top ten, but probably top fifty.* If we're talking best songs to come out of Seattle, off the top of my head these come to mind: Chris Cornell - Seasons Nirvana - teen spirit Nirvana - all apologies Pearl Jam - Better man Pearl Jam - elderly woman behind the counter in a small town Temple of the dog -- Hunger strike Just one man's opinion _____________________ *Which is still high praise. Any song that falls in my top 100 is one that I've placed on repeat for a few days at the very least.
I had never heard this. It's better than most out of Seattle from that era. I'll give it that, but it got a little tiresome towards the end. It's on par with Hunger Strike. Both could have had a minute or so lopped off and not suffered from it.
Way too many songs to just pick a few. "Elderly Woman....." is one of my favorite Pearl Jam songs however. What qualifies as "coming out of Seattle"? Does it have to be during the peak years or just from a band that originated from there? Pearl Jam, Soundgarden and Alice in Chains have way too many great songs to pick from, Nirvana has their share as well.
DNS issues all day. Can't get them to resolve. Takes about 4 hours or so for a change to propagate. But that doesn't mean the change was right. Which means... 4 more hours. We've been doing it since 8 am.
