The problem is that we did this with the guy from Morehead and Southern Miss (after the guy from La Tech turned us down.) WTF was the hurry in hiring Tyndall? Were we just terrified that Missouri or BC would snatch him away? Were we that afraid there just wouldn't be anybody left if we thought about it over dinner?

So, according to who you believe, there have been rumors circulating for months about this. One would think decent due diligence would have uncovered it.

 

I'm not sure it's possible to understate the performance and competency of the current UTAD. It's a fracking clown car.

This is true. I sometimes forget that expectations are a problem.

 

-None of the buildings have fallen down.

-We are able to field teams in all sports.

-SEC revenue checks keep coming in regularly scheduled intervals.

-Academic department heads do not seem overly angry.

-No mattresses are burning, at least in easily televised areas.

-Nobody has made any controversial statements about the conference, the other schools in it, or the coaches of those schools that cause undue attention to be cast upon Knoxville.

-There is a DJ in the student section of football games, and Neyland has the largest TV east of Nashville and west of Pigeon Forge.

-Men's and women's athletic departments now report to the same office and share a toll free number.

The athletic department has been very successful in doing the things it has actually tried to do.

 

Hearing that the NCAA seems to be gunning for Tyndall and has offered immunity to southern miss on information about him.

There's some talk about an ex assistant coach selling him out to them too. This could get really interesting
