I still don't know what Hillary's platform was, which is a huge reason she lost. The anti-Trump stuff will get any Democrat started, but it can't be the only thing. The Democratic Socialism thing actually would work better than I think people realize, but it has to be sold well and not become bogged down with accusations of being communist and bogus comparisons with places like Venezuela. Someone at least slightly more carismatic than Hilary is a must, too.
That's the thing with socialism. Just always looking for the right top man to really make it work this time. Even the countries that they hold up as examples of success aren't socialist.
The countries with the same policies as proposed aren't really socialist, but those same policies in America would make it really socialist? The word in America is radioactive and easily applied to anything left of feudalism as a pejorative.

She really ran the worst campaign I've ever seen on a national level, which is amazing to say, considering the campaign her opponent ran. The 2016 election was the most tiresome, painful and pathetic presidential campaign in modern history. I can't think of any worse, except, perhaps, 1860 and 1824.
Yeah, democratic socialism wants you to think people will work because they love their job, not because they want to get paid. They recognize that some jobs are not desirable, but those jobs will not be assigned based on race and class. The more I read, the more I laugh. I'm sorry guy, you can't sit around and fan your [ussy pay] all day and get all of the free shit. You want it, just go work like the rest of us. Sacrifice a little here and there and make your life better.

I like my job and do it for less than I could make elsewhere. That doesn’t mean I don’t require a justified amount, just that I’m not a mercenary willing to go to the highest bidder.

As mentioned before, she didn't have a platform. Modern day Dems are in a tough spot, as it seems a fair amount of supporters are now pushing Socialism. Good luck with that.
