I'm going to assume it just became a revenge show and Reddington and the team will dedicate their efforts to killing Solomon and whoever hired him.

 

Mr. Kaplan hatched this plan when she went in to talk to Liz. The only way to get Solomon to stand down was if Liz was dead. Red is in the dark because he had to look convincing. Mr. Kaplan was pretty pissed at Red anyway. Let him suffer a while. Liz will be back after her IRL pregnancy.
