Beamish was another. If a fan of stout, have you tried Bells, Murphy's or Moylin's?

I've had a couple of bottles of Pappy given to me, but I just can't seem to bring myself to buy it, if you can even find it. Oddly, the 20 is better than the 23, IMO.

I like Basil Hayden better than Knob if I'm going high class, but 90% of the time it's Jack for me. It's just good, solid, smokey whiskey. And although it's blasphemy to say this in Kentucky, I'm not really a big fan of Makers.

Just saw the Rye in the above post after going off on my bourbon tangent, but there it is anyway.

I'm not a huge fan of Maker's. If you're in the vicinity, the tour is fun-ish, but I've simple tastes. I prefer Beam when it comes to whiskey from Kentucky.

I love makers though knob creek is better. Makers 46 is shit though or at least not worth the money.

Today is a good day. I have a feelin' you'll need more, much more than a tester though ...

For mixed drinks. If you have not already, try Woodford Resrv. same price point and head-shoulders above for sipping

I concur, Woodford Reserve is a fine sipping whiskey.

Summer I'm a good rum fan- mostly on the rocks; occasionally with gingerale
Winter I'm a Maker's fan - mostly with coke; sometimes with water
Year round I'm a red wine fan with any and all foods

I'll have to say that I've never had good rum. Everything I've tasted has been somewhere between shitty and decent.

    Any suggestions?

I like Don Q Anejo. It's not expensive, but really good. I haven't found it in the US though. Can be shipped from Puerto Rico.

Agreed. Even the more expensive ones seem somewhat cheap to me.

Try the Don Q Anejo. I'm no rum fan, but I like that.
