He seems legitimately pissed, Rich Men North of Richmond is a badass song title and what you can get with your ebt/food stamps is nonsensical to me.

I can respect the message without agreeing with it but it's probably not something I'll listen to on repeat. I will give him props on the dobro, though

Every time I see a dobro I want to buy a dobro

But I can’t play for shit so probably shouldn’t

His voice just works for Puttin People on the Moon and some other songs, but it just doesn’t work for a bunch of others

Me too. And banjo. But I already have too many things I can’t play

the guy on the dobro for turnpike put that thought into my head the other night

I'm enjoying the fight between the North of Richmond Guy and Cotton Eyed Joe's

Cotton Eyed Joe’s is still basically my personal hell

Especially when you read him and he says "It was my fault for not reading the contract". He had delegated the contracting to someone else and he saw the result and said "NOPE".

Dude was going to make $160k for 60 minutes of work and cancelled it.

"I'm trying to get my buddy, he's a plumber, to be my booking agent" is what got me

Real dude that’s been hugely influenced by the intellectual dark web, and seeing and living the forgotten parts of America that those in power have forgotten and shit on.

hopefully he stays true to himself and keeps it up.

Ssmiff Went to the White House...Again

I’ve been listening to a lot of him on Spotify. “I wanna go home” gets to me. When my dad had a stroke and in nursing home, he had a few moments of clarity before he passed. One day it was “son I’m tired. I want to go home.”
To end on a good story…he was unable to swallow. One day he woke up and could swallow. He didn’t tell anyone and was supposed to half swallow tests so he wouldn’t choke. He was also still out of it in many ways, but we got a call to come see him as he had wheeled himself to the cafeteria and started eating the bacon off of other peoples plates. That’s the image I keep in my head to make me smile.

Not country but probably belongs in this thread more than most “country” these days, anyway, the new Black Crowes album is awesome.

Tyler Childers tonight was one of my top three shows ever

The other two involved Thom Yorke, and I’m a weird Radiohead fanboy, so that should tell you how highly I’m holding this one.

Saw him in Knoxville Tuesday. Was a really good show and he talked about his sobriety. Made all of those dumb comments people make wanting Coke Tyler back look even worse.

You should check out that band that opened for him too. 49 Winchester

If you haven’t already that is. Kinda like a more raw Stapleton? That country soul kinda stuff

They opened for the Turnpike show I ended up coviding out of, so I’d checked them out. Then saw them open for Flatland Cavalry.
