James Harden as a rookie was no James Harden today. He developed into what he is. Lamb has the same ability.
So Jerome James was worth what the Knicks paid for him? I'm sure the Bulls are thrilled with their return on investment from signing Carlos Boozer. Just because a desperate, lousy franchise with one of those sabermetric worshipping stooges in charge will overpay you to save face doesn't make you an elite player. For example, look what that same imbecile farm of an organization paid for Jeremy Lin.
I agree, I'm not personally saying he's worth it cause he's not a number one guy, you can't build around him. I'm saying the market says he's a max player because teams are willing to pay him that much.
Guess we will never know since he didn't get to test the market. I'm sure some GM would have given him that money or at least close to it.
With the James Harden trade, Oklahoma City just handed the Western Conference to the Lakers - Grantland For your reading pleasure.
From an NBA scout in SI's NBA Preview: "Another question has been whether they should invest long-term in Harden. I think if he went to another team as a starter, they'd realize he isn't good enough to take them far into the playoffs."
