The Unofficial Mayweather v. Pacquiao Thread

Fight replay is on tomorrow on HBO. I'm going to try and watch it with the sound off and see if I can get a better read on the fight without all of the distractions and emotions of a live event.

I'm not sure about Manny winning, but I've been reiterating that this fight was closer than a lot of the "Floyd won easily" talk and that the CompuBox numbers were total horseshit. I watched part of the replay on Saturday and was still struck by how few times Mayweather actually hit Pacquiao. I still think the perception that Manny would come out like a wild man and, then in the actual fight, he was far more measured really affected how people judged the fight.

The WBO stripped Mayweather of his belt. Pretty ridiculous.

 

Yeah, but Mayweather, at this point in his career, doesn't give two shits about belts anymore.

 

Nor should he. They're meaningless.

 

Can't hold 200 million coconuts in those belts.
