US Soccer Using "Foreigners"

I know, right?!? Except that practically anyone who has expressed that thought hasn't actually ever played an entire match to prove it. I remember in high school there was a guy who was into dance and folks razzed his ass unmercifully about being a *****.... Until his superior strength and conditioning was unleashed on the football teams starting middle linebacker in the form of one of the most brutal beat downs I have ever personally witnessed. The teachers didn't even stop him because they had seen how much he'd put up with before going off...

 

Don't **** with dancers or gymnasts. They are stronger and more limber than you.

 

Or wrestlers.

 

Exactly. They're stronger, fitter and trained in beating you down.

 

But when that was over, dude still wore tights and was a dancer.

Most Americans played soccer when they were kids

 

U-9 soccer is a lot different than playing it as an adult or in high school.

 

I did not. I've defeated Droski in the red blooded American arena.

 

I'm more talking about stuff like high school/ college/club soccer than the per wee stuff... An honest to God, 90+ minute adult soccer match will wear your ass slap out.

 

I think this is true now. Not so when I was a kid. We barely knew what it was. At least where I grew up.

I'm fairly sure I'm older than you and everyone here played ayso. And the youth participation rates have always been extremely high. That's why people were calling for soccer to take off 25 years ago.
