I don't like it, but I tend to keep it to myself. The only time I go out of my way to say it sucks is when I hear parents talking about how great it is while acting like football is barbaric and baseball is the devil.
They shop at Whole Foods.* _____________________ *though I do thoroughly dislike baseball, as has been discussed at length.
Back in the 1950s it sort of was.* I didn't grow up in the 1950s, though. ______________________ *Now it's dying a slow death. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bluefield,_West_Virginia
Mine had a sign attached to the "Welcome to...." up until early 70's/late 60's that said "don't let the sun set on your black ass here"
The repeated hits from dribbling a ball off your head when you're a child apparently can cause brain injuries at that age with lasting effects. You guys act like they're making this stuff up.
My son's u-9 team almost never headed the ball. Like, ever. The ball was just never up in the air enough to do it.
I have a 4 year old and a 1 year old. I don't want them to have concussions, but I don't feel the need to put them in bubble wrap either.
I mean, maybe this is totally different, but people are freaking out about all this stuff, and then putting their 16 year olds behind the wheel of a car
Yup. Countries that aren't rich are going to waste money on something that will generate no interest.
Big time problem in women's tennis. http://espn.go.com/espnw/news-comme...hard-casey-dellacqua-concussions-women-tennis
You're really cosigning that tripe? If you're banging your head in a vehicle, it means you probably banged it against the windshield, which means a concussion is the least of your concerns because you're dead. Moreover, it stands to reason that humans should have evolved in a manner such that an occasional bang to the head doesn't cause long term health concerns. However, I don't believe our evolution provided us with the ability to withstand repeated, frequent bangs to the head. I don't know that the soccer header impact is that significant, but maybe it is, and if it is and it's happening frquently* then it's absolutely more of a cause for concern for later dame brannage than driving a car. *though I do agree with Norris' point about youth soccer
