Academics doesn't always mean grades. Rob Lewis throwing in that "University guidelines" makes me think it's not grades, but I could be wrong.

He wouldn't be "transferring" if he had cheated. The PR implies he's in good standing with the university.

 

And if it were bad grades as bearcat said those wouldn't even come into play until after summer.

But guys Bassman said its not academics.

 

Because its not if 1+1 still equals 2.

 

Depends on how bad they are.

If he was clinging on to passing one class this last semester just so he could catch up during the summer and failed it, he would leave.

 

You don't get to "transfer" in good standing if you are caught cheating - you are kicked out. And its not grades because grades don't come in till next week and he still has the summer.

 

Well exams are still on going.

 

Just because exams are going on doesn't mean grades aren't out. I had an exam today, but all the students in my Intro Logic class had their grades over the weekend. Not at UT, but exams still going on doesn't necessarily mean as much as you're insinuating.

 

They are saying UT granted his release so it isn't academic dishonesty.

 

Tobias supposedly tweeted it wasn't about academics.

 

Yeah and I would assume him and golden have been in contact since it happened as they are great friends and Harris was very pissed over twitter.

 

Something weird is going on. This isn't exactly how academic situations tend to go, I think. But Parrish and now Patrick Brown are saying academics.
