That sucks. We had an after-show meal there and it was excellent, though I think there are ten places in Charleston that would wipe the floor with it and are cheaper.
It's the only place in Vegas where I've thought the price out kicked the food. That was only on the app. The duck fat fries and the steak were magnifico.
I probably shouldn't have been as hot about it as I was. A half a bottle of Walker Black and a 1,000 dump at the roulette wheel will do that.
The best meal I've ever had was in Vegas. Went to Le Cirque for my birthday one year, and it was phenomenal. Highlight was a black truffle risotto that is probably the best thing I've ever tasted.
Vegas, San Francisco, New York, and Chicago are the restaurant towns in my experience. New Orleans is in a totally different category.
That's awesome. You really can't beat either of those places at sunset, but the wait can be crazy at that time depending on the season.

Vegas is an interesting place to eat because some of the best places are in the dumpiest casinos. There is a great Asian place in the Orleans Casino of all places. I also had great sushi in one of the weirdest casinos and I can't recall the name at the moment. Looking for it.
I was fortunate enough to live in Chicago for five years, and agree completely. I haven't dined too much in New York or San Francisco, but have spent a good deal of time in the Napa Valley. Have you dined at French Laundry? We actually got a sort of last minute call our last trip, but it was our travel day and we thought we would be too tired to fully appreciate the experience. We're going to try again this November.
It's probably the reason it's my second favorite city, close behind Chicago. New York is so big it's hard to wrap your head around the food scene there, though I've tried!
My wife and i went to Hubert kellers restaurant in Vegas. Unbelievable. His burger joint is damn good too.
I would call this a solid list, as they are all my favorite towns for dining. New Orleans should be compared with Paris, Madrid, Genoa, Venice or Vienna.
French laundry is one of the few places that lives up to the rep. Outrageous prices though. Another fantastic famous place in napa is bottega.
New York is unbelievable in that the food across the board is generally good. Not true for New Orleans and Chicago where some direction is helpful. La actually has many fantastic restaurants but the problem is they are spread out. Some of the best ethnic food in the country too.
Interestingly, Paris is my all-time worst failure at finding a decent bite to eat. When you're both poor and don't know anything, it a eliminates a lot of the advantages.
Just don't eat at non French restaurants outside of Paris. Some of the worst Cuban/Chinese/Vietnamese food I've ever eaten in my life. No spice whatsoever.
