I'd cut insurance but up your pay some (but not cover my insurance costs) to compensate for it.

Which will be a fantastic argument when this comes before the court again, once the "tax" goes into effect... in 2014.

Will I be able to get a Acorn Stair Lift to handle the one step from my den to kitchen from the government insurance?

Which might never happen if the election in November renders this whole debate moot. The SCOTUS essentially abdicated their responsibilities and threw it in the voting public's lap.

    Had not thought about that.

Thats why I said earlier that the election now becomes bigger. If the 2010 elections happened the way they did because of this, just think what will happen now.

According to Fox News, they just displayed a slide that deptics the penalties for adults with no coverage:

2014 - 1% (of income) or $95 (whichever is greater)
2015 - 2% (of income) or $325 (whichever is greater)
2016+ - 2.5% (of income) or $695 (whichever is greater)

The R's will never repeal this even if they control the Senate, House, and Presidency. They'll be too worried about public perception.

This plan is like the Virgin Mobile Phones at Target where you just buy minutes as needed, no contract.

    Chances of Romney beating Obama:

    Before this ruling: >20%
After this ruling: 2-3% (and I'm being optimistic)

    My $.02

Mitch McConnell has already publicly stated it is his primary goal for 2013.

They'll have these UHC plans at the checkout counters in every Dollar General, you can buy 1 month, 2 month, 3 month or whatever you need, right there next to the gift cards.

Actually irrelevant. They tacked it on to an existing house bill that was originated in the House.

Why is that? I'd think this might fire up the anti-commie voting bloc.

So, can the IRS actually penalize you for not paying the tax, or is this just a healthcare version of the $5 you can elect to give to the Presidential Election Fund?
