As usual with this bunch, I'm expecting a letdown

Not sure why everyone hates Azzanni. Recruiting would go to another level on offense with him having the OC job. If Butch thinks he can call plays then just roll with it. I'd feel much better with Azzanni at the helm considering his age, if something isn't working I highly doubt he will be afraid to mix it up.

What gives you any idea that he has the slightest clue of how to be a coordinator?

Rucker says to expect Sonny Cumbie to get a call. (Currently co-OC at TCU)

To be fair, he has been an OC before. But it was only one year, and at Western Kentucky.

He's been in this system forever. Like I said before if he can call plays (nobody knows) then he will be just fine at OC. It's Butch's system, Azzanni already knows implementation and scheme. Can he call plays though? That's the question.

This is tier 1. If Cumbie is interested then give him whatever he wants.

He wouldn't be my choice. But is it fair to just assume he can't be one?

He's been a coach for a while, and he's only had one shot at OC. After one year, he just "left" to go back to being a WR coach.

It turns out that year, WKU was 89th in yards per game and 89th in ppg.

So, no, I do not care to assume he can be one.

I dont think it will change recruiting very much.

He may fit the role well given the chance, but pretending like he is a cant miss is a stretch. Small sample size to go from, and play calling is just part of the job.

If thats even remotely a question with him being on the staff already hes not your guy.

Risky is the best way to describe it for me.

So that's the standard now? Sweet, sign me up for the OC gig. It isn't fair to assume I can't be one.

I didn't say I wanted him nor did I say it was a standard. Just asking the question.
