Yes. This is also how I'd have phrased this...

I'm 41 years old and cannot give you the first idea about how oil markets work other than any excuse is an excuse to raise prices tenfold.

I don't really know either, but it sure seems like the futures market drives things more than actual production and distribution. The mere implication of possible risk is instantly priced in.

Makes sense to me. Up next he should just flip the switch to electric rocket's and reusable glue.

That's on federal land, not in general.

Also, that's new leases, not cancelling existing ones.

why is it not ok on federal land and it isn't ok elsewhere? you are already signaling you think fracking is bad.

I don't think it is bad, I know it is has impacts like any extractive activity. Good/bad is subjective. That it has impacts that can conflict with other uses and goals is not. There is a hell of a lot of fracking going on as we speak on federal lands, if you didn't know.

The image on this page is from 2010 in PA: https://eros.usgs.gov/doi-remote-sensing-activities/2016/usgs/landscape-effects-hydraulic-fracturing. I've seen it even denser out West. If the purpose of federal lands is solely extractive, why are we leasing for less than the market rate? How does this serve the tax payer? What is the goal, droski?

Ya, I thought I heard yesterday that they had gotten it moving but it looks like it is still stuck.
