Just throwing this out there because every year after a big loss the Dawg fans start howling but this time really feels different. There are people down here who have been staunch Richt supporters who have now turned on him. Is his time up in Athens?
It's almost like contracts need to account for this. Even the best fall off eventually and then it's borderline impossible to get them out. Weird with Richt, though. He's not that old, recruiting is still going great, and the division is crap. He shouldn't be struggling.
Nah, you've gotta always have 9 more years on the end of the deal or crootin will go right down the toilet
I hear them saying all the time, "We can't fire Richt; we will turn into Tennessee". Despite the turmoil, in the past decade Tennessee has won the same number of Championships as they have.
It is way past time for him to be gone. But I will believe it when I see it. This might actually be it for him, though. Will be good for him, too. He needs a fresh start somewhere else. The only coach that I know of that had the wherewithal to get out before he was completely unwelcome was the OBC.
It's year 15 for him there. It's past time. At some point it's best for an amicable divorce and let both parties move on with their lives.
The reason he will get another year: Jacob Eason. They can't afford to lose an elite QB prospect right now.
