I've yet to have seen a true frosh qb who was even mediocre with maybe the exception of Rosen and that dude threw like an NFL qb in hs and I guarantee if he was that good he'd already be the starter.
Again, it's a simple offense so it's not as big of a deal. With the 2013/14 WR's Sean White could probably be a reasonably productive QB if Gus was willing to tailor the offense to his skills. As it stands now, our only WR's that could be dynamic are young and unproven which is gonna require the QB to have some wheels. If Franklin can't even reach the very low bar that Gus had in mind, the true frosh may be the best option.
Erik Ainge and Brent Sheaffer both had pretty good years as true freshmen. I'd say Peyton Manning was at least mediocre too.
Oh come on. You said Rosen was the only true frosh who was even mediocre. That was obviously wrong and laughably so.
Maybe Peyton manning was ok. And that was 20 years ago. I'm sure your dude will do as good as guys drafted number 1 overall
