Hi supporters won't care. GOP voters won't care. It was never about truth or honor.

    Unreal.

Remember, this is after he wanted in writing that he would not be subpoena'd before he would come to testify.

More and more I think nothing will come of this Russia stuff, and that the whole thing is crooked as shit to a treasonous degree. All for the sake of partisan power.

He'll be gone in a week, but I agree.

People are going to look back very negatively on him. He’s already widely hated.

He's the majority leader. He does his job, and does it well.

Not in any way political, but just a random question -

How does teacher retirement work? Does teacher fund part and state part? Just had a couple of teachers hit my desk, and I have no idea how it works.

The refusal to confirm Garland will be looked on with contempt long after he’s dead. He’ll also be seen as being afraid of Trump. Not a glowing resume.

The way it works for me in MNPS is I pay into a retirement fund for which I pay 5% of my salary to and MNPS covers the rest. That's actually the old plan, which I am grandfathered into, and new teachers get a 401k.

Depends on if they’re grandfathered into the old system or not.

The old system didn’t have them pay anything but the new system is tied more to a 401k. teachers have the option of chipping in ontop of what the state is putting in.

I just wondered how it worked.

We have deductions from our paychecks that fund TCRS 5%, tax deferred. These funds are invested to fund the retirement plan. To my knowledge, there are no designated state funds infused. It is funded by future beneficiaries.

    The benefit formula is:

Years of service X AFC (5 year average of highest salary) X 1.5% Benefit Multiplier + 5% Benefit Accrual Factor

    For example:

    30 years service X $30,000 (average 5 year highest salary) X 1.5% (Benefit Multiplier) + 5% Benefit Accrual Factor = $14,175 yearly benefit / 12 months = $1,181 monthly benefit.

    I'm under the old system.

Interesting that one person says "didn't have them pay anything" and the ones on that system say otherwise. "obama phones!"
