Sounds like there's a serious chance Santi returns next season.

 

Barnes going to try to go 4 guard and spread people out? I’d like to see it. It’s the toughest offense to stop if you have the guards who can shoot or drive.

 

I thought it would be him and Olivier that returned, of anybody that could.

 

Give me Santi and Phillips, Mashack, Aidoo, Awaka, a healthy ZZ, plug holes with the freshmen, and let’s see what we can do.

Santi obviously a question mark, and I have zero clue whether Phillips wants to transfer, stay, or play G League, but he pretty definitively proved he’s not ready for the league.

Probably could use an impact transfer, but that has been beyond Barnes to this point.

 

Dillione been practicing so he’s kinda like a RS. Scorer.

 

Will ZZ be back?

 

There have been lots of guys make a huge leap in year 2 under Barnes. It may not be the easiest but Phillips would be in his best interest long term to stay.

 

I would expect he would be at some point.

 

average 8-9 month recovery time and can be as quick at 6 months. At worst I think he'd be at 100% by start of conference season.

 

So now we are begging Phillips not to transfer to Auburn?

 

Apparently most feel like he’s been convinced to enter the draft.

 

Vescovi coming back

 

wow. Santi is on my Vols Mt Rushmore. I only go back to when I started watching them around ‘87. Love what he brings. Defense, maybe one of the best rebounding guards we’ve had, and gets me out of my seat just a little less than Lofton did.

I hope they're bringing him back because they think they have a championship roster, and not because they don't know what to do otherwise.

 

If JJJ comes back then I feel like they’re in scramble mode. Just can’t trust his health at this point. Also have seen it said Gainey won’t be on scholarship, but do we really believe that?

 

Gainey is going to be on scholarship.

 

Of course he is. Means we are about to go 1/2 or 0/2 on the 2 guys we are in on. And no portal PG.
