Just not a big believer in them as a team. Ranking aside.

 

Should've qualified that with a "most".

I look forward to them, but I don't put too much stock in the results.

seems like they've a) gotten a lot of mileage out of the Stanford win (and it's obviously a good one) and 2) mostly managed to navigate a pretty soft schedule just barely, every week

 

When have rankings reflected anything remotely accurate?

 

With nothing to play for, they're meaningless exhibitions. Probably suits our garbage staff to play with no pressure at all.

Good point, but for myself, I don't put much emphasis on bowl wins or losses unless there's a championship on the line. Last year, Iowa was flat and just not as talented as Tennessee. Blowing their doors off felt good, but it didn't mean anything. If Tennessee had lost it, it would have sucked for about 3 minutes and that's it.

 

It's a big 10 team. I want to win.

 

9-4 and ranked in the top 15 looks a hell of a lot better than 8-5 and unranked. Just from a perception standpoint you've got something to stand on going forward.

That said, I still don't think it could be classified as a "big win", mostly because of the lack of implications and the fact that they aren't a brand name program.

Beating Northwestern isn't something to hang your hat on, especially a group that struggles the way they do on offense.

 

I agree, but the 2015 season will forever be tarnished by the OU and UF losses, to me anyway.

 

It's up there in the "what could/should have been" seasons for UT. 10-2, SEC East champs at minimum.

 

We should be playing in sugar bowl.

 

Non BCS bowl games are meaningless. Saying that, I hope Tennessee wins by seven touchdowns and the VN types and media members drink so much Kool-Aid that next season's expectations are through the roof.

 

You can't spell outback without a "U" and a "T", not to mention a few other letters.

 

Too soon. Not part of the "plan". We're young. Learning to win. It's a process.
