I don't think that option would fair as well in the SEC. If you shut down the inside read-option, you shut down the offense. There are many teams in the SEC who stand a good chance of doing that, when they see it every year.

Is QB Coach at Tampa a step up from SEC offensive coordinator? I don't believe it.

This looks a whole lot like Butch telling him to look around to me. And that increases my confidence in Butch immensely.

He was in the running for the HC at Nebraska, IIRC.

I'm sure it would work just fine in the sec if you had good oline talent. works in the nfl

So, has someone confirmed that's where he's landing?

I'd say yes except that smith might get fired next year.

That's what lots of media are saying.

I heard that, but never understood why he would be. Guy was the WR coach at Oregon all of 2 years ago.

If the offense really is all Butch, then that seems likely. Nothing really changes other than a new title for Azzani.

This is not good. Too close to signing day.

I hope that Butch brings Dooley back home.

    VFL? Ammiright?

Sonny Cumbie (TCU) would be a guy I'd go after but I doubt he leaves TCU after 1 year and his ability to recruit isn't proven.

Even if Butch was smart enough to fire him, short of re-animating Bill Walsh and signing him as OC, the timing of this is stupid as hell.

As much as I like this I don't like the timing

    I like it.

And I'll take an unproven recruiter at OC, because I don't think that's Bajakian's strong suit, anyway.

    No doubt.

I'd say this all but closes the door on Pat Allen for us now. I don't think it really affects anyone else on the periphery or already committed.
