Yeah, they're a really nice platform. I wouldn't mind having one in a .308

 

If you ever do, look at the Colt 901. You can put a 5.56 upper on it and have both without having to pay full price for both.

 

I knew it would pull, but I was shocked at how much it did.

 

I'm between going with a Thompson Encore or that option for the adaptability

This is a bullshit political word game. You know damn well what is meant by that term, it's been in use for 60 years. It is a selective fire rifle with a detachable magazine.

 

If you don't know what an assault rifle is, look it up. Ignorance is claiming something doesn't really exist all because you don't know how to define it.

 

It is often considered the first US assault rifle.

 

Thats the point. Guns are guns to the bigger the agenda for some.

 

Why have an argument to the lowest common denominator? If the very pro gun people would get out in front of this and create the better system instead of fighting it, it would take a lot of the power away from people trying to create hysteria.

 

So selective fire and magazine makes it one? So a straight semiauto isn't one?

 

By definition, a straight semiauto is not.

EDIT: Well, actually I guess it is since you can fire it single shot or not.

I'm saying you could pull the trigger once, or you could repeatedly pull the trigger and continue firing. You could load one bullet at a time, or you could attach a magazine.

 

I think you're selective fire qualifier automatically disqualifies semi-auto guns from the definition.
