You're CBJ and it's the end of the season. The offense isn't up to par and you've fired your longtime friend Bajakian.

Who is on your shortlist of OC that you could realistically get?

This was supposed to be serious since everyone thinks Bajakian is terrible. So obviously you don't know anyone better.

seriously, don't know anyone better? small schools are full of good, bright, up and coming OCs who think football on a daily basis rather than "system."

 

Ray Rice is available. Would bring some smash-mount style of football. We'd definitely beat people up.

 

So going into a must win year you would hire a guy from the FCS or lower?

 

If they move the field to the elevator, he's in.

 

There will be more of a pool to chose from towards the end of the year when folks are looking to move up and others are moved out.

I hire a guy that has a view of football that is steeped in taking advantage of defenses and can organize practices. I want the guy to beat people.

Hiring a "name" OC is silly. There are only so many and they're typically taken. There are a load of talented and creative minds out there, but we hire guys based upon name.

If he doesn't have it in him to hire a guy that can help him win, he isn't the coach we need.

 

I mean if Bajakian is as terrible as everyone thinks we should have at least 30 guys listed already.

Lashlee will probably get a HC job, Spavital would be a good get but I don't think we'd be able to. We'd probably end up with Calvin McGee or something.
