This is amazing and needs to be seen. I may be in the minority but I'm a big believer in star ratings. No, it's not an exact science but for the most part, the teams that win on NSD also win come autumn.

I found this list on another board. This is the 2014 & (so far) 2015 classes, which will be Butch's first two full classes.

IMO, this is exactly why Butch should get until 2016 unless he absolutely shits the bed in 2015. He's recruiting at a level that we haven't been at since Fulmer in the late '90's.

As long as this keeps up, Butch will either A.) Win big at Tennessee and bring UT back to the elite level we all became accustomed to or B.) Leave a golden egg for the next coach to walk into if Butch proves that he can't coach up the talent or he's far too loyal to underachieving assistants, ala Zook.

 

I didn't realize Spurrier was recruiting that well.

There is another Butch out there that left a completely stocked roster that even one of the most inept HFCs in history won big with.

For about 3 years.

 

Coker was on his staff though and did help recruit a lot of those players to be fair. Unless that's not the Butch you're referring to. Coker was shit as a head coach though ... no argument there.

And I don't think Jones is the problem. I just hope that he isn't infected with loyalty to this staff. I get some of these guys have followed him through the tiers of college ball but this is the pinnacle of competition and sometimes gimmicks don't work.

For the first time since Jones and crew have been here, I have more confidence in Jancek and his staff. If anything else... the D staff is killing it with recruiting.
