Butch ain't leaving and any change in assistants has to be an improvement. In any case, my proposal can be a starting point to come to an agreement.

 

So what you are saying is that when you said nobody could beat us except Alabama, you were talking out of your ass.

There is a reason not to wait. I made the offer now. If you weren't just talking shit to hear the rattle in your own ears, with all of the faux authority and conviction you've represented, you'd take the bet. If you had an ounce of testicular fortitude after posting "11-1" and "just Bama" repeatedly, you'd jump on it, only for shits and giggles. If, instead, you want to spout a bunch of nonsense as if it were gospel only to hem and haw when something as important as an avatar and a sonic gift card is on the line, you'd do exactly what you are doing.

If you want to be pissed about the way I post, then fine. But don't sit here and call me out for going back on what I said or not "putting my money where my mouth is" when that isn't the case. I don't want to sit here and waste my time thinking of and writing out scenarios that might change my mind when a) I'll most likely miss one that will ultimately end up happening and b) we can just wait and see what happens and go from there. It's the much easier choice and makes far more sense.

If you're assailing it with anything other than "Butch sucks," then you deserve it. People wanted to say we were on par with UGA talent wise THIS season but then turn around and claim we won't be more talented next season. People want to act like A&M, who just lost to an atrocious UL team is a huge threat. Ridiculous. Neither one of those teams will be as good as OU was this year, and we will be better next year. We should win 11 games next season easily if Butch is even average. And since we are stuck with him and next year is our best shot, I'm saying we do it.

 

I said I wanted to wait. You tried to get me to do other stuff. That's not helping me. Helping me would have been telling cotton that making the bet right before the season made perfectly logical sense.

 

Indy, why do you feel betting now puts you at a disadvantage? What if Nick Saban takes an NFL job or wakes up with a tumor the size of a honey dew on the side of his head and retires? Suddenly, the Alabama game is a lot more winnable than before. What if A&M's campus is destroyed by a massive tornado during the summer and half the team is killed? Probably less likely to drop that game. What if Chubb blows out his knee again before the UT game? The Georgia game becomes a lot easier.

Seems the risk is just as bad for Cotton to make the bet now than it is yourself. He has to worry about 12 teams staying at or near 100% as to not make the schedule even easier than it already is and you are just worrying about one.

Edit: Also, it's not like he's asking you to bet your life savings. It's ****ing dinner. Take the bet, cross your fingers that everything works out, and have some fun.

A guy enthusiastically predicts a great season for a team we all ostensibly pull for, gives solid reasons WHY he thinks so and because of the fallout from a supposedly "friendly" wager (you draw your own conclusions there...) we have four pages of "you're a [Penis]!!" And "go **** yourself!!".... Bizzaro World.....

 

Who's saying Tennessee isn't more talented than UGA in 2016? I said all off season Georgia and Tennessee was about a push talent wise in 2015. It's going to be the same in 2016.

Butch's SEC road record is pretty terrible.

 

True dat on Botch's road woes but I think there's too much upheaval in Athens for next years' team not to get out of there with the W. I would hope team (120?, is that what it'll be next year?) will have a bit of a chip on its shoulder after pissing away three games they had in the bag... We'll see.

 

Kinda where I'm at honestly. I think we can go 11-1 too but nobody is telling me to to go **** myself.

 

I hope they do. With or without Kamara, the rushing attack is going to be good even with a less than great scheme. The defense is going to have a lot of talent, even if both JRM and Sutton are gone.

TAMU is going to have shit for a QB, but they have some all star WRs and a one man wrecking ball on the DL. Tennessee "should" win that game, but I don't trust Butch.
