I don't doubt you've seen this, but I would argue that neither VolNation - a site which is alleged to prohibit, remove and ban any negative discussion, whatsoever - nor Facebook offer any legitimate insight into the overall mood or opinions of the fanbase.

It's the more recent version of SportsTalk callers and Letters to the Editor - for every one person who chooses to make their opinion known, and in positive support, there are hundreds (thousands?) more who have succumb to the apathy of another failed hire, lost season, and general disarray of the program, and who don't want to waste any more of their time with it.

By definition, once you stop giving two shits, you are far less likely to publicly post any opinion, than those who still care enough to do so.

Exactly. Doesn't mean I think he would take the job, but doesn't really mean anything. Hell, even Glanville on TonyB's show today was saying that Jones was a good coach and he sees a lot of good things he is doing. The coaching fraternity is very tight knit when it comes to stuff like that.
