They should have fired him last year when they really wanted too and we all saw it coming. Just makes the AD look even more incompetent to let him survive last year only to fire him 4 games into the season this year. I'm guessing Kiffin will be there for next year. With Ed O. there and Sark now at AL to relieve Kiffin, it all lines up.
They had luck hiring a guy from Mich St... Is Art Briles under exile? They must have a plan as this was decisive. And I bet it's a guy with a throw game
I understand that, but they played to win. He never found a QB, but he won a bunch of tough games against good teams.
From Chris Low: Texas A&M defensive coordinator John Chavis, who was Les Miles' defensive coordinator for six seasons at LSU, told ESPN.com Monday that he sensed toward the end of his tenure that power brokers were plotting to force Miles out as head coach. "It's always sad to see a man and a coach the caliber of Les get pushed out," Chavis said. "He's a Hall of Famer and a legend in the state of Louisiana. I was blessed that he gave me an opportunity to coach at a place like LSU, but I can't say I'm surprised that he's gone. They were trying to fire him when I was there, and I told him so." Chavis saw a similar situation unfold at Tennessee when future Hall of Famer Phillip Fulmer was fired in 2008. Chavis, one of the most respected defensive coordinators in the college game, left LSU for Texas A&M following the 2013 season. He said his issues were never with Miles, but that he didn't trust the LSU administration.

He's going to disappear for a few years, finally turning up under a bridge in New Orleans naked except for the LSU hat
