It can be fixed if people wouldn't lose their minds every time there is a restriction. A somewhat deadened ball and a lowered mound would go a long way.

 

There is also something to be said for artificial turf.

 

Pitch clock was present all last year in the minors and was far from a "disaster", no?

That's fair. I did hear that MLB is trying to be especially strict about it so people actually follow the rule, but we'll see how long that lasts

 

I think they are going to be like NFL in preseason where they are very strict with it and maybe loosen up once season starts.

Granted 2 days worth of data, but games are 22 minutes shorter than last spring as of now.

 

Per Jayson Stark the stats are pretty much dead on with what they were the first week in the minors last year. After 4 weeks it more or less went to 0.

 

There has always been a rule on the books that pitchers have 12 seconds. It had just never been enforced

Update on pitch clock stats from the baseball useless knowledge guru. Seems to be sorting itself out.

 

That is a huge reduction in game length.

 

The gap between team USA’s lineup and the pitching staff is…significant.

 

Juan Soto just put one into orbit.

 

I love Waino. Love him. Top 5 favorite Cardinal in my life. But if a 41 year old who can only throw in the mid 80s is your #1.......yikes.

 

Baseball is easily my favorite sport when it comes to the pros. I follow pretty closely. I had to Google who Nick Martinez was when I saw he was starting game 2.
