State Rep Rick Staples from Knoxville was using campaign funds to pay for various personal expenses, including his car warranty.

I don't know why I find this so funny, but I do. The wife told me last night that if I ever get busted for misuse of campaign fund, to please make it something good like hookers or drugs, and not a car warranty.

 

To be fair they do call about those car warranties, way more than any hooker or drug dealer is going to call you.

 

This is true.

We didn't turn TV off after Lego Masters (great show by the way) so news was just on. I walked through the room just as they told about the car warranty and just started doubling over laughing.

 

80 foot is a ways up there. I've been around 45 and that's good enough for me

 

Do you even get mad over that or just shake your head as he resigns?

 

Saw them last time around. It was fun but I probably won’t drop the $ this time. Having to buy tickets for another person too sucks

 

There's some trips to the beach and Vegas in there too, so that may get him. The warranty is just a head shaker.

The more local the elected official scandal is, the more entertaining it will be.

Over the last couple of years it came into public view that the sheriff of Etowah county in bammer was pocketing money (millions over the years) originally intended for the jail. There was public outcry. Ultimately, he was accused of all sorts of stuff. Didn't see a day in jail. The money he kept was actually so done somewhat legally as this practice was allowed by county rules from way back when . The only question is whether feds may someday get involved since they contracted with them for ICE incarceration. This guy bought a beach house and other things.

 

Now THAT'S how you do local corruption. Minus a couple of points for not thinking about the feds, but that is how you do it. Bravo!

 

A mayor from up here was accused of stealing money from toys for tots. He claimed it was reimbursing his expenses. He had every receipt and never got in trouble. He also never did anything extravagant, so who knows

 

Great fishing experience today as whales on one side as we fished and tried to reel fast enough to keep sea lions from snagging Spanish mackerel. He got 4 of them.

Talked to a guy that knows the band and he seems to think the stage is going to rotate so much it won't matter.

 

There’s still some lower level tickets left. I just pulled a pair in 108. I’m actually kind of surprised they’re coming back, since they didn’t exactly get close to a sell out last time they were here either.

That said I’m glad they are coming back, and hopefully I can drink enough beers to make it worth their time and maybe entice some other non-country acts to come as well.

Also, knoxvilletickets.com is the most godforsaken hellscape of a ticketing website that exists on the internet today.

 

They are almost certainly coming back because of the enjoyable small talk they had with one charming audience member during the last show.

 

Never had to beat sea lions to the boat

 

Man you woulda been hi 5 ing with us when we were able to get them in. Smart animals. Chill by boats and wait for a hook then easier to catch and eat. Once he starts coming it's a freight train and captain yelling, "REEL!" Fish jumping out of water as well as sea lion, 20 feet from boat. And this in background

 

Introduced the boy to Boy Meets World last night. Forgot how great this show is and hes binging it now.

 

One of the chicks from that show does porn now. Probably ought to wait a few weeks before you introduce him to that.
