I didn't realize twitter forced Trump to peddle conspiracy theories.

Why should an American company tiptoe around from correcting false statements? It is a free country

Why is this a mistake by Twitter? Is he the first person to whom they have done this? Are they opening themselves to litigation? Regulation that they were hitherto not affected by? People leaving the platform en masse?

Misinformation and fallacies posted on Twitter?!? Say it isn't true.

But when it is by the head of the US government, it is a littl more important than when @NorrisAlan says "I had lunch with the Pope, prove me wrong."

That gets into a slippery slope. Who gets censored and who doesn't? Who gets to decide?

And, let's be clear, they aren't censoring anyone.

Was he censored? Did they change, erase or delete part or whole of Tweets?

I don't think they did, but I haven't looked too deeply yet.

Regardless of the perspective, can't we all agree it's very concerning the only reason he might "take action" is because it happened to him?

That’s the hilarious part - Trump was exactly correct in his tweet.

    As always.

Okay let me rephrase. Who gets fact checked and who does not? Does this get a Fact Check link added?

    It’s all about mail-in voting.

    That’s why they did it.

    Good luck with it.

    No.

Because that’s a liberal member of the Fake News crew, an enemy of The People, and who is utterly democratically illegitimate.

If only there were some precedent for twitter including a fact check link.
