Heard these figures tossed around.

Butch to 4.3m, 3 year extension, no word on buyout. Hart wants to make sure he's locked in.

Jancek and debord to somewhere between 650-700k. Everyone seems happy with direction and thinks next year could be huge.

 

Or epic meltdown. Which is what I predict after the streak has been extended to 12 in Knoxville next year.

 

Kirby Smart getting 6 yr/3.75M. Market for SEC coaching is ridiculous.

 

So, a contract through 2021 isn't "locked up"? Man, I wish I had been a shitty band member.

 

Maybe DeBord will die. I mean...he can't have much longer.

 

A contract through '23 means that if we fire him after the '18 season, we'll owe him $10 million. Is that right? lol

 

I don't get it, I truly don't.

 

Making sure he's locked in? ....does that mean Dave thinks he's on his way out?

 

Why not just give him a lifetime contract and a statue?

 

He's going to fight like heck to get his son in here before the year is over, I think.

 

I don't understand how anyone can make this much money despite being so average at his profession.

I haven't reviewed the salary of every CFB head coach, but you can't explain Butch's pay with just "it's the nature of college football". Yes, salaries are ridiculous in general but I don't think any coach with 4M+ salary has accomplished remotely as little as Butch has.

 

You're worth what somebody is willing to pay you. That doesn't mean you, I or we have to like it.

 

That's not really a response to what I said, but ok.

 

This makes me feel nothing. Nothing whatsoever. I refuse to care about the program anymore until these people are either dead, fired or leave on their own. I still want the best for the players themselves because they deserve that respect but everybody else can suck it.
