Random college football game thread, 2014 edition

Auburn couldn't run the ball like they could last year and couldn't throw it consistently without Duke. When the defense fell apart halfway through the year the whole thing went to heck. The thrashing of LSU was equal parts anomaly and LSU starting that freshman QB.

 

Steelers get a turnover and immediately throw a long pass for a near Touchdown. Ravens get a turnover and immediately throw a pass for a Touchdown.

WTF is wrong with those two Championship Offensive Coordinators; don't they know that they are supposed to be conservative in that situation.

 

I know, right? Turn the turnover into positive field position gain. But whatever you do, do not go for the throat!

The only thing Kiffin did wrong was to stop running the ball the other night late in the game. I think fOSU was there for the taking but he tripped over himself.

That and the defense gave up 120483093 yards.

Agreed. Running the ball more would have helped keep the other teams offense off the field.

Bowl season has put one of the simplest continuums in sports into easy to analyze terms: Lack of motivation = Lack of Preparation = Lack of performance = Getting an asskicking.

Those were usually funny though because chances are it was another student, and at ETSU at least, you probably knew them.

My buddy said he was going to fight the ref and I commented it would be much of a fight to my buddy and he ran us both. That was the worst of my offenses.

 

Certainly seemed that way, I was thinking in a simplistic manner that the match ups were poor. Your reasoning is more on target.
