It would need to be taped for several weeks for historical value.

It will be Library of Congress-worthy.

0.0% chance Saban goes to Texas.

if his staff thinks he's gone why don't you? I don't understand your logic at all. If I had a member of saban's staff tell me they thought the rumors were very legit I'd take my 2-1 odds any day of the week.

Austin is one of the best cities in America to live. No state sales tax if I remember correctly. Dominate the Big 12 for an easier road to NC.Texas has so much money part of their endowment is in gold. Cement your legacy as the greatest coach ever by winning NC at 3 different schools. Why wouldn't he go?

He's not getting three in a row, now. Three by three different schools is possible, though.

    He just won't.

And, for the record, if I were to be named Governor of Texas, I would commute from my home in either Oklahoma or Louisiana.

Not a fan of Austin, or Texas, in general.

love Austin, but why bother with that shitstorm at his age? he'd have to be certifiably crazy to take that job given the one he currently has.

    He's only what, 63?

Why does everyone keep trying to lead him out to the pasture to be out down?

I get the impression that Saban only cares about football and his wife. The media will shout and scream but he'll just put his head down and keep grinding. I don't remember him ever acknowledging the way he left the dolphins. He just doesn't care.

63 is archaic for a college football coach.

you figure it would take at least 3 years to get texas where bama is currently and we know bama will match and texas offer. has any coach ever left a top 5 program to go to another program?

You are part of a very small minority that doesn't like Austin. It's a consistent top 10 city with great weather shopping business and people that are Sabans equals in business entertainment and sports. Tuscaloosa doesn't have that.

So that puts him at 66-67, and then all he has to do is sit back and cruise. Or just snag one more, and retire.

I know he wants to leave at 65, but if he didn't, he still has time.

I'm not sure I see it taking him 3 years to build Texas up, either.

He was considered very good when he took over Bama. He's a great now. Two years tops, if he has any decent talent left by Brown.
