Severe Weather Thread

It is cold.

 

It's coming a storm. Sheesh.

Nearly 5 inches of rain since Tuesday.

 

This is my favorite southern sentence construction. Mine usually sounds something like It came a big rain last night. My Ohioan wife rolls her eyes every time which is like bonus points.

 

Which is not to be confused with "Storm's a' comin'" which means it is going to rain soon.

 

I wonder if that comes from the Scotch Irish, and Gaelic sentence structure. And "it came" whatever weather noun is a transformation from a language with different adjective-noun rules

 

Saw a video of gburg with rushing water going by. Violent water

 

Someone in Knox county school system is going to take some heat I’d say for how they handled today

 

Maryville City Schools closed tomorrow.

It was for a Sevier Co teacher who was killed when a tree fell on a van she was riding in today.

 

I saw a rumor something happened, but nothing more than that. That is awful.

 

Sustained 20 mph winds here with gust to 40 mph. Heavy rain tonight with chance of tornadoes. How lovely.

 

Biblical levels of precipitation the last few days and now that it’s finally cold enough to freeze, 1/64” of snow. Sigh.

 

Yup.

If all that rain was snow the area would be shut down for a month.

 

I could’ve really gone for a three day weekend and some sledding.
