During Hurricane Harvey we got a little over a years worth of rain in about 48 hours and that was atrocious. Couldn’t imagine more. But within that there were 2-3 hour periods where we got about 4 months worth. But then we’d get a break.

Man, Libya is looking like a damn mess. Looks like a tsunami ran through some of these towns. 2000 confirmed dead, 10,000 missing.

This is from a weather nerd I follow on FB. He's usually on top of it.

**THIS IS A WINTER OUTLOOK UPDATE**
LONG RANGE MODELS CONTINUES TO SHOW A VERY ACTIVE WINTER FOR TENNESSEE.
IT WILL BE A SLOW PROCESS BUT ONCE WE GET LOCKED INTO THE WINTER PATTERN IT WILL STICK AROUND FOR A WHILE.
IT LOOKS LIKE THAT THIS COULD GET STARTED AROUND MID TO LATE NOVEMBER HOWEVER THE START TIME ON THE LONG RANGE MODELS ARE STILL CHANGING EVERYDAY SO IT'S STILL NOT EDGED IN STONE YET.
    **HOLIDAY OUTLOOK**
THE LONG RANGE MODELS CONTINUES TO FLIP BACK AND FORTH ON THANKSGIVING AND CHRISTMAS BUT I WILL CONTINUE TO MONITOR THIS IN THE COMING WEEKS.
**ROAD SUPERINTENDENTS IN EASTERN TENNESSEE, SOUTHERN TENNESSEE, AND NORTHEAST TENNESSEE**
THIS WINTER COULD PRODUCE A LOT SNOW AND ICE THIS WINTER.
THIS COULD TAKE A TOLL ON THE BACK ROADS AND EVEN MAIN ROADS. I JUST HOPE IT DOESN'T GET OUT OF HAND BUT THE POSSIBILITIES ARE THERE AND CAN'T BE IGNORED EITHER
    .
JUST MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A LOT BRIME AND SALT ON HAND.
I WILL DO ANOTHER WINTER OUTLOOK UPDATES ABOUT EVERY TWO WEEKS UNLESS SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BEFORE THEN.

Hopefully casualties will be kept to a minimum but they won’t be zero. Not with a tornado that big hitting a place that populous.
