Song of the Day Thread from A College Library

In the teeth of one of my regular Depeche Mode binges.

 

Ha. Gcb loves him some mode.

 

Back in the day, couple of our kids went through a Depeche Mode phase.

I was just glad they outgrew the over and over, full blown "Mary Poppins on cassette in the car" phase. There were times when I caught myself asking them, "Y'all want to listen to Puss 'N Boots, now?"

 

I can still sing along with the top 10 Veggietales countdown.

For GCB. My son is playing Depeche Mode in the car right now.

 

I tried them. Just not my thing.

 

Wife is dragging me to Teske Brothers tonight. I was a little excited as I thought she meant Tiesto, which is my go to when I need a little rave music. This morn I find out it’s 2 dudes from Australia singing slow songs. I will fall asleep. Not happy.

 

I love it! What a kid.

 

Nothing deep cut, was Personal Jesus, but still. I am learning a lot about my son by listening to his play list on the way into work. Warms this dad's heart to hear things from The Beach Boys to Depeche Mode and all kinds of rock and roll in between.

 

Well that was fun for awhile. Lady opening informed us about Ltbtq support. Which is fine of course. Then mentioned it again between every song before singing a song called “drag queens and something…then went on a Republican rant. I’m out listening to music for the first time in awhile at a small venue and just can’t get away from it all.
I’m not a victim and not crying. Just saying. Lost my attention when politics was brought up.

 

Not sure what your post means but Oliver hates the establishment and doesn’t try to start a political we vs them, dem v rep, rally during a concert.

 

Should have stood up and yelled shut up and sing. I've done it before.

 

That’s a real fast way to get kicked out of a venue

 

I started a whole group doing the same thing. You get away with stuff like that when you know the owner. Plus, the act was running their mouth too much.
