That, to me, was the most encouraging aspect of yesterday's game. The personnel of the team we were facing notwithstanding, the fact that were were able to shutdown what was previously working in the first half is a good sign.

I'm seeing shades of Justin Wilcox in Jancek, thus far. I know his history in the SEC isn't the most prestigious but I'm willing to go out on a limb and say the D is playing better, from a fundamental standpoint, than I've seen in quite some time...keeping in mind who we've faced so far, of course.

Antonio Andrews is a stud. He'd start for a few SEC teams

My knock on Butch is his staff. Staff sucks. And part of the gig of HC is realizing what you need in assistants. He's surrounded by weak links.

Not disagreeing, but who are the weak links in your opinion?

I like what I've seen except at QB, but like Rowdy Burns said, let's see how he does in a crowd.

Entire defensive side is a good start.

Maybe, maybe not. This staff has been together for a while and done well, perhaps you're right or perhaps their work as a team mitigates their deficiencies, individually.

    Should have read offensive staff.

Same here. Thigpen just for recruiting alone.

I'm still more positive on offense than others. Want to see what happens with a qb and sprinkles in the offense.
