I've not watched any season 2 yet either, but season 1 was fantastic.

I've heard good things about David Simon. I'll have to check out The Wire.

Old Western about a band of frontiersmen led by two ex-confederate soldiers who walk the narrow line between "outlaw" and "villain", set in space.

Hasn't been said, but Game of Thrones is awesome.

A guilty pleasure of mine is The Last Ship.

I watch two of the Star Trek series all the way through about twice a year (I've probably watched DS9 all the way through 5 times. Voyager 3 times. Enterprise 3 times. TOS once. Next Generation I've seen all the way through probably 10 times, counting childhood).

Firefly is awesome. The follow-up movie proved that the show would have been great for years, even though I didn't like the movie itself as much.

MacGyver (interested in seeing the reboot)

Battlestar Galactica Remake (old one sucks)

The Tudors (I've watched that through like 3 times)

Both Borgia and The Borgia. I liked the Canal+ European one better, but watched both all the way through twice. I find that time and place fascinating.

Farscape (acquired taste. It's about an astronaut who accidentally ends up far from home, and uses Jim Henson puppets for some of the aliens).

House of Cards. Frank Underwood 2016. America Works.

    Breaking Bad

    I mentioned GOT.

House of Cards is good stuff, although I wasn't as big on the latest season.

I'll also take the Star Treks, Breaking Bad and Farscape off of that list. I'll add Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis for myself.

I liked the Stargate movie a whole lot. SG-1 was okay in spaces but really lost me the last few seasons. Never could get into Atlantis. Seemed like recycled storylines at that point.

Dang that is a lot of Trek IP.

It's a ****ing great show. Maybe the best ever.

    Seinfeld, for me.

I'm really not a TV watcher. I like Game of Thrones, 24, The Office, Lost...some others, but I just lose momentum trying to keep up, and move on to something else.

Do yourselves a favor and watch Mr. Robot. It's the best show that no one knows about yet. First season was brilliant.

I've heard nothing but rave reviews about The Wire, and I still haven't seen it yet.

What show is it comparable to, insofar as quality?

Yes. Although the finale was a bit of a letdown.

It's excellent. In terms of quality, there's not a whole lot that can top it. It's extremely authentic and realistic.

I will say that if you're watching it expecting a Breaking Bad style story arc, you're going to be disappointed. It's not that kind of show.

It actually reminds me of Game of Thrones in some way (has a large cast, focuses on several different groups of people, introduces new characters each season, etc).
