Fulmer was responsible for some bad football, but if the right coach was hired, no one brings up the 02 to 08 landslide

 

This. It wasn't good, but it wasn't in godawful shape. We had the '05 bust and respectable years in '06 and '07 before the cluster**** in '08. A good coach has the program back on it's feet in two years.

 

Kiffin, for all his faults, had quite a few pieces in place when he left.

 

Not sure he could have stayed out of trouble long enough to see them through.

 

Was Mike Hamilton not essentially Fulmer's handpicked AD? Legitimate question to you or the board, I've always been under the impression that that was more or less the case.

 

He certainly supported Hamilton's promotion, as did Pat Summitt and Buzz Peterson. The real culprits are the damned fools who let the coaches choose the AD.

 

That was the only thing that concerned me about him. Everything else though...

 

And Summit and Peterson. Hamilton's idiot bosses are the big culprits

 

Who knows, but it shows a competent coach can recruit here
